Book review: On The Devil's Court
I read On The Devils Court by Carl Deuker
Reviewed by Robert D.
If you love basketball and the intensity of being in a game and if you like creepy/superstitious books, you should read On The Devils Court.
I liked this book because one of my favorite sports is
basketball, and I know how it feels to really want to be good at
basketball, and want to prove yourself to your team. I can connect to
this book because I know how intense it feels in a game, and the author
does a really good job making you experience how it feels.
This book makes me think about being pressured to make decisions
in life. For example Joe (the main character) feels pressure from his
basketball team to be good, so he considers selling his soul to the
devil so he can be amazing at basketball.
The author does a great job making you want to keep reading the
book. It never gets boring at any point. Every time the chapter ends it
keeps you hanging on a question or event, and you want to keep reading
to find out. If you like basketball this is a must read. Even if
basketball is not your thing, the book is still great and the author
does a great job helping you understand and not getting you confused.
Thanks for reading.
