Yellow Class

Katniss Everdeen, the protagonist of Catching Fire, has survived the Hunger Games and has safely returned to her family, but the games are far from over. Next comes the quarter quell, the big twist to the next games. Is it true? Is is possible? For the quarter quell, all the past victors are going back into the games.

If you couldn’t tell yet, this is the conflict in Catching Fire. Why is it a conflict? Only because Katniss and fellow district tribute Peeta have gone against the capitol and tricked them to both get safely out of the last games, and now they both must go back into the games, and the capitol will not be tricked again! The book’s setting is in the 12 districts of Panem, capital, and arena. The story takes place in the future. The book was very well written. The reason I enjoyed this book was because of the twists. The best parts were when you would be reading the book and you’re on the edge of your set to find out what happens next. A theme Catching Fire makes me think about it manipulation. Katniss gets thrown back into the Hunger Games knowing that the capitol is playing with her and there is nothing she can do about it. As the book goes on you also find out that Katniss realizes that the people she thought she could trust has been lying and manipulating her all along.

Honorable Mention:

  • The Missing book 1 Found by Margaret Peterson Haddix
  • The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  • Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
