THE EDGE of the WORLD by Kevin J. Anderson

                                      Rating: ***** (5/5)
593 pages (includes glossary, extras and preview of second book)
War. Exploration of unknown lands. These are some words that describe this book. The story takes place in another world-Terra Icognita. 2 nations are fighting a war, to dominate the known and the unknown world. Men are put on boats to go and brave the unknown waters across the edge of the map, a blank space, marked "Here be Monsters".

I liked the book because it reminds me of our world, filled with war and at one point in time, exploration. The book reminds me of how wars a fought for the silliest and strangest reasons. It also reminds me of how exploration was a way of life and the people were brave enough to do it. The book, overall, in my mind is a five star book. I recommend it only to serious readers though, as it is almost 600 pages.
