When eleven-year-old Olive moves to the old Mrs. McMartin’s house on Lindon Street, she faces some serious trouble. While discovering the big house Olive finds a lot of strange paintings and a pair of spectacles. When she wears them she can go in and out of the paintings. But if she stays in the paintings for too long she will get stuck there FOREVER. She also meets three talking cats, who will help Olive get rid of the dangerous paintings. Olive meets a boy in the painting named Morton who was once a real boy. The McMartin’s are trying to get Olive get stuck in the Paintings and get their house to their self’s. Will Olive help Morton to be a real boy again and how will she get rid of the paintings that are stuck to the wall? And will the McMartin’s get stuck Olive and the paintings and how will Olive save her house?
I liked the book because it was different. It was different because the plot was that Olive Could go through paintings when she wore the spectacles. It was so different then all the other books I read. It was more interesting and exciting.
