Review 13 Reasons Why

There were 13 reasons why Hannah Baker killed herself. Clay Jensen is one of them. In the book 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher, Clay Jensen is the protagonist. The book is set in Crestmont, California modern times. One day a mysterious package arrives at Clay’s house and inside there are cassette tapes. When he plays these tapes he hears the voice of a former classmate and crush of Clay’s, Hannah Baker. There is an bit of mystery stirred into the story because Hannah had killed herself a while back. Clay needs to figure out how he is connected to Hannah’s death and how to move on. I like this book because the sense of mystery and suspense makes a great story. With almost every page in 13 Reasons Why a new secret was revealed that made me even more engaged with the plotline. The factor that kept me most interested was finding out what Clay had to do with Hannah’s death. This book helped me realize that no one will be here forever and that we should value everyday we live. Also that you need to stay positive in life no matter how hard it gets. The authors style of writing is unique and original. 13 Reasons Why showed me this because Hannah killed herself because she got overwhelmed with sadness and didn't know how to cope. Death is not a joke and it affects not just that person but many others in their life as it did with Hannah. Read 13 Reasons Why to learn more.
