Can you imagine, a boy that always get in trouble just been at the wrong place and at the wrong time and go to the camp, where you have to dig 5ft. holes every day in the hot temperature. The setting of the book is Green Lake, Texas in 1900's. Green Lake is not green lake anymore. There is no lake. Its just a hot dessert were Stanley, the protagonist, choose to go for his mistake that he never did because he never went to the camp that why he thought it would be fun to go, but not really. He has to stay there and dig holes every day and try to find something old in the ground. The conflict of the book is that he goes to the camp that is worst choice then going to jail and dig holes for stealing the shoes that he never stole.

I liked the book because its a good story about a teen boy that is related to a family that always gets in trouble for doing nothing. The character kind of remind of my friend that gets in trouble in class even he didn't do anything.

Honorable Mention

Wonderstruck By Brian Selznink
The Invention of Hugo Cabret By Brian Selznink
The hunger Games By Suzanne Collins
Cleopatra VII Daughter of The Nile By Kristiana Gregory
