The German soldier slipped out of the ropes his hands were tied in. He draws his pistol. points it right at Noah's uncle, but Noah shot the gun right out of the Germans hands. The protagonist is Noah Garrett. The conflict is Noah has to go to his uncles army base and train to be a mountaineer for the military. The setting is in Colorado and Italy during World War 2  so about the 1940’s. I like this book because its very detailed and has hooks. One hook was when Noah got to his uncles army base in Colorado he passes it in the snow and his uncle finds him lying in the snow. Also its detailed because before he passed out the book listed every little detail. This book is just like the hunger games. Especially the style because it’s kind of boring at the beginning and then it picks up super fast. Also both characters had to train super hard and didn’t think they could do it but in the end Noah, and Katniss from the Hunger Games.

Honorable mention: The Hunger Games by Suzzane Collins, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Penalty shot by Matt Christopher
