Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard

Pretty Little Liars

Imagine you and your best friends are having a sleepover. You go to sleep, and the next day one of them is gone. Three years later, your best friend is still nowhere to be found. This is what protagonists Emily, Spencer, Hannah and Aria are going through in the book Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard. It gets worse. An anonymous source called “A” keeps sending them mysterious texts. The texts say things only their friend Ali, (the friend that Emily, Spencer, Hannah and Aria are looking for,) knew. “A” knows everything that goes on in Rosewood, Pennsylvania.

Pretty Little Liars makes me think about the importance of friendship. In the book, Emily, Aria, Spencer, and Hannah have to stick together. After the sleepover, they grow apart, but when “A” comes into the picture, they have to join forces to figure out who “A” is and what happened to Ali. They set their differences apart, and become friends again. This makes me think about friendship because even though the friends lost touch, they didn’t lose each other. They were there for eachother in a time of need. Will the girls ever find Ali? Who is “A”?

Honorable Mention:
Island of the Lost Girls by Jennifer McMahon
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Perfectly Dateless by Kristen Billerbeck

  1. Hey Meagan! I read this book too and you did a great job describing it. I have some questions about what happens later in the series but I don't want to tell anything. I really liked this book and I recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries
