The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan

Nate R.

*****

Did you ever imagine that you had magical powers? In the case of Carter and Sadie Kane, they don’t need to imagine. Their direct descendants are the mighty pharaohs of ancient Egypt, who were often controlled by Egyptian gods, mainly Horus. In addition to being powerful magicians, Carter and Sadie are possessed by Horus and Isis, respectively. With their new power,  Carter and Sadie must fight Set to keep chaos from ruling the world.
This book reminds me of the ancient Egyptian unit from school. Many gods and pharaohs are important characters in both, such as Horus and Isis. This is my review on The Red Pyramid.

Honorable Mentions:
The Last Olympian, by Rick Riordan
Heat, by Mike Lupica

BOOM! The museum is in shambles and cracked. A figure that's on fire is burying your father in a scarcothagous. And you have magic powers. What happened?

Sadie and Carter Kane are descendants of ancient egyptian pharaohs. When their dad tries to set Osiris free from the rosetta he also released four other gods. Two gods go into Sadie and Carter and they discover the world around them is filled with magic based on Egyptian. They are also trying to defeat an evil god set.

There were a couple of things I like about The Red Pyramid. My favorite thing is that some events are based on uncertain strange events in the real world. So are some of the sites and places.I also liked that the story is told as a recording switching between Carter and Sadie Kane.
